** Important Information about COVID-19 **
Updated as of 05.18.2020
Anyone age 2 or older (regardless of appointment type) should wear a facial covering when entering any of our Preferred Pediatrics locations. We will also take temperatures of all parents entering our offices.
Due to the prediction of increasing COVID-19 in our area, Preferred Pediatrics has initiated telemedicine or a virtual visit. Please call to schedule if you feel this is appropriate for your concerns.
In most patients COVID-19 will be a mild illness. If you suspect you may be infected and are only mildly ill, please self quarantine for 14 days. Please make an appointment for any concerns.
In accordance with current AAP recommendations, we are still scheduling well checks. It is important to keep your child current on his/her wellness care during this time. Preferred Pediatrics has been able to continue to offer these check ups using our designated well offices. Preventative healthcare protects our children and communities. We're proud to be able to offer this service!
As of May 01, 2020 we can also begin seeing patients who require a sports physical for the 2020-2021 school year. These appointments will also be scheduled at our designated well office. Call today to get scheduled!
We will continue to use separate offices for well and sick care through June. Well Visits and Newborn visits will be taking place at our Lees Hill location, while our Courthouse office will be designated for sick appointments only. On a daily basis the Snowden office will accommodate well visits in the AM hours and sick visits in the PM hours. Our providers will be rotating between the offices to accommodate their primary patients. You may be called to adjust a scheduled appointment. We apologize for the inconvenience however your health and safety are our number one priority.
** We are requesting that all patients check in from their car when they arrive at our offices. When an exam room is ready we will get you directly into an exam room. **
Effective immediately we will be limiting the number of people going into the exam room with their child to just ONE parent.
In an abundance of caution all of our staff will be wearing masks!
FOR CHILDREN WHO WHEEZE: IF THERE IS A RESPIRATORY CONCERN, PLEASE BRING YOUR INHALERS OR MDIS TO YOUR APPOINTMENTS.
